Olga Poutchkova Biography
Olga Poutchkova was born on September 27, 1987 in Moscow, Russia. She is a young tennis player.
Biography and Career :
She started playing tennis when she was a child and her father is also her coach. His name is Alex Poutchkov. 2002 is the year when she became a professional tennis player and since then she has won five ITF single titles.
In the same year she played at the tournaments in Warnambool and Benalla and every time reached the quarter-finals. Next year she participated at the tournament in Miami and was one of the finalists and few months later at Houston where she was one of the semi-finalists.
The ITF titles were obtained at Baltimore, College Park, Hammond, Felixstowe amd Bronx and four of them were on hardcourt. The tournaments were won between 2003 and 20
06 and her opponents in the final were Jewel Peterson, Rossana de los Rios, Andrea Hlavackova, Trudi Musgrave and Tatiana Poutchek.
In 2006 she played at the US Open but unfortunately she was eliminated in the first round by Marion Bartoli. Next year she played at the Australian Open where reached the second round. In 2006 she played her first WTA final at Kolkata, but famous Martina Hingis beat her and so she couldn't win her first WTA title.
Another final was reached in 2006, at Quebec, but this time Marion Bartoli was the one who eliminated her and won the tournament. She is a young player and has still many things to learn. If she trains hard and is serious she can go very far.
