Klara Zakopalova Biography
Klara Zakopalova was born on February 24, 1982 in Prague, Czech Republic. She is a professional tennis player.
She became a professional tennis player in 1999. She started playing tennis for the first time when she was just a child. She has won two WTA single titles and six ITF single titles, but no doubles titles yet until now (2007).
She won her first title at Hertogenbosch in Netherlands after a final against Lucie Safarova on grass on June 18, 2005. The second title came in September 2005 at Portoroz, Slovenia where she faced in the final Katarina Srebotnik.
She also played another six WTA finals at Antwerp in 2001, where she lost to Barbara Rittner, at Casablanca in 2002 where she lost to Patricia Wartusch, at Sopot in 2003 when Anna Smashnova
beat her, at Hertogenbosch and Sopot in 2004, but lost to Mary Pierce and Flavia Pennetta and at Palermo in 2005 but Anabel Medina Garrigues beat her.
Between 2003 and 2006 she participated at US Open in the first round but couldn't continue being eliminated every time. In 2004 she played at Wimbledon and Roland Garros and reached the second round. The same performance was registered in 2005 at the French Open.
Her best performance at a Grand Slam tournament was registered at the Australian Open in 2003 after reaching the third round. In 2006 she played at the tournament in Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, but Martina Hingis eliminated her in the second round.
In the same year she lost in the first round at the Australian Open to Ekaterina Bychkova from Russia. Jan Zakopal, who is a Czech football player, is her husband and they have a happy marriage
